For the tenth consecutive time, doctors and pharmacists who also conduct research in addition to their regular clinical work can compete for the prestigious International Medis Awards for Medical Research. Researchers from nine countries of Central and South-Eastern Europe have until 2 November 2023 to apply for the contest. Outstanding scientific research achievements in nine fields are awarded by an independent international committee of eminent professors.

The aim of the Awards is to highlight these doctors and pharmacists among the public in order to increase recognition of their work and encourage them and others to continue their research. Their work contributes to important innovations in medicine and pharmacy, enabling more effective disease management.

"The International Medis Awards are an important recognition for doctors and pharmacists, ensuring that their invaluable work receives the attention it deserves,” emphasises the President of the International Scientific Committee, Prof. Borut Štrukelj, MSc Pharm, PhD, from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Ljubljana, urging “all researchers to submit your work, as this will increase the visibility of your research and clinical work in the scientific community. In addition, your research has the potential to attract a wider audience and raise the profile of scientific achievements from this region of Europe among the lay public."
