Head of the Clinical Department of Anesthesiology, Reanimatology and Intensive Care, University Hospital Split, Croatia

Assoc. Prof. Karanović is head of the Clinical Department of Anesthesia & Intensive Medicine, with specialties in anesthesiology and reanimatology, emergency medicine and subspecialty in intensive medicine. His main fields of work are cardiac anesthesia and intensive care, disaster medicine and sleeping disorders.

He is internationally invited lecturer and researcher in various domestic and international projects. He is member of international societies of anesthesia and intensive medicine, representative of Croatia in ESA NASC committee and EACTA. He published 129 professional and scientific publications.

One of the most important added values of this contest is the applicability. We need to keep in mind that the strongest inner motivation of the researchers of this contest is to solve the research problem which has a name, surname and a soul, and that without research there is no good clinical practice and vice versa.
