Prof. Markus Peck-Radosavljevic, MD, is Professor of Medicine and Chairman of the Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Endocrinology and Nephrology at Klinikum Klagenfurt, Austria, which includes General Internal Medicine, the Large Hemodialysis Unit and Central Endoscopic Facility. At the same time, he was also appointed Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Klinikum Klagenfurt.

He specialized in internal medicine in the areas of gastroenterology and hepatology, as well as internal intensive care medicine and infectious diseases. In his research career, he led a translational laboratory testing novel approaches to the treatment of portal hypertension and HCC, as well as studies of end-stage cirrhosis, liver transplantation, viral hepatitis, and HIV-HCV coinfection. Recently, his main research has focused on metabolic liver disease and liver cancer.

In addition to his academic and scientific career, Prof. Markus Peck-Radosavljevic, MD, has also served as Secretary General of EASL and the Austrian Association for Internal Medicine. He has been a member of the United European Gastroenterology (UEG) Council since 2015 and Chairman of the UEG Public Affairs Committee (PAC) since 2018. From 2021 he is also President of the International Association of the Study of the Liver (IASL).
