He completed his specialisation and his research quickly focused on the epidemiology, management and late effects of infectious diseases in obstetrics and gynaecology with a special interest in genital chlamydial infections.

Dr. Sziller has authored more than 160 scientific publications, including papers, chapters, and a textbook on infectious diseases. The importance of medical research is indispensable and eternal. The COVID-19 pandemic has clearly demonstrated to politicians, financial decision makers and the public that a well-organised health care system in any country reaches the level of national security. A society that continuously supports medical research is less vulnerable to the consequences of public health challenges than a society without such support.
