Research Work: Programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1)-targeted immunotherapy in advanced hepatocellular carcinoma: efficacy and safety data from an international multicentre real-world cohort
Published in: Alimentary Pharmacology & Therapeutics

Anti PD-1 immunotherapy for treating certain types of cancer can be an efficient therapy also for treating patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, established the gastroenterologist Bernhard Scheiner, MD, together with his colleagues from the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology of the Medical University of Vienna.

Constant research allows us to improve our patients’ outcome. Starting new studies and participating in international trials is therefore an important part of my everyday work, which I really enjoy. This is especially important for patients with rare diseases or patients with advanced diseases, for whom no approved treatment options are available. The International Medis Awards are a great opportunity to increase awareness for our research work and to get connected with other research institutions around the Central and South-Eastern Europe.
